Huawei comes with a smart watch on Android Wear for 199 euros
Huawei will announce a smartwatch based on Android Wear at Mobile World Congress. The watch, which should resemble a classic model in terms of design, will cost 199 euros, but it is still unclear when it will be in the shops.
The German website TechHive came across posters in Barcelona on which Huawei is already announcing the arrival of the smartwatch. The Huawei Watch is inspired by a classic watch and has a round screen. It is not yet known what type of screen it concerns, but given the watch face, an LCD or OLED is most likely. A metal or leather strap is included as standard, but users can substitute that for other 22mm straps. The poster shows that Huawei mainly wants to emphasize the design of the Watch.
Huawei provides its smart watch with the Android Wear operating system from Google. The poster shows the colors black, silver and gold. According to TechHive, the watch will cost 199 euros upon release. The site also mentions the presence of a pedometer and a heart rate monitor. The poster does not state when the Watch is available.
Last year, Huawei also presented a wearable at Mobile World Congress. Then it was a smart bracelet, which is mainly intended for fitness purposes. Huawei will hold a press conference on Sunday where it is likely to provide more information about the new Watch.
