Huawei announces sports-focused Watch GT 2e
Huawei has announced a new variant of its Watch GT 2 wearable. The Watch GT 2e should distinguish itself with its sports applications and its somewhat lower price compared to the GT 2.
The Watch GT 2e has a 1.39″ screen with an OLED panel and a resolution of 454×454 pixels, just like the GT 2 46mm. The soc is also the same as in that wearable, the Kirin A1 from Huawei itself, and there is 4GB of storage. The screen edges are somewhat thicker than with the GT2 46mm, which was announced last September.
According to Huawei, the battery life is two weeks, with a scenario of listening to music for half an hour every week, heart rhythm monitoring turned on, sleep monitoring activated at night, exercising 90 minutes a week with location tracking turned on and notifications on. You can listen to music via bluetooth 5.1.
Huawei emphasizes the presence of an oxygen saturation meter, with which athletes can test the SpO2. The Watch GT 2e will be available at the beginning of April, for a suggested retail price of 199 euros.
