Huawei has announced the Nova 4 in its home country of China. The smartphone has a small hole for the front camera in the top left corner of the screen. On the back is a 48-megapixel camera.

Huawei gives the details about the Nova 4 on a product page on its Chinese site, after weeks of rumors about the arrival of the device and it was shown for a while. The most striking feature is the small hole in the top left corner of the screen, behind which the front camera of 25 megapixels.

It is not the first smartphone with a hole in the screen for the front camera: Samsung’s Galaxy A8s, for example, already has that, albeit that it has a slightly larger hole. It is expected that many smartphones of 2019 will have a hole in the screen, with which a notch at the top of the screen can be prevented.

The Nova 4 has three cameras on the back, including a 48-megapixel model with f/1.8 lens, a 16-megapixel super wide-angle camera and a depth-of-field camera. The smartphone has a 6.4″ screen with a resolution of 2310×1080 pixels and the Kirin 970 as a processor. There is also 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage memory. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back and the 3750mAh battery is charged via USB type- c. Whether and when the Nova 4 will come to the Benelux is not yet known.
