Huawei announces Honor 8 smartphone with dual camera
Huawei subsidiary Honor has announced the Honor 8 in China. The specifications of the high-end smartphone are somewhat similar to those of the Huawei P9. The device has a dual camera.
The Honor 8 has a 5.2″ screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The processor is the Kirin 950, which has slightly lower clock speeds than the Kirin 955 of the Huawei P9. The brand name Leica is missing on the device, but the dual camera features similar specs to the Huawei P9, which does bear the Leica name. The cameras feature laser autofocus. One sensor has a regular Bayer format and captures colors, the other only detects black, white, and shades of gray .
Honor has announced the smartphone in China, where the device will be available July 19 in five colors and three configurations: with 3GB ram and 32GB storage, 4GB ram and 32GB flash storage, and with 4GB ram and 64GB storage. Until now, many Honor phones came out in China first, after which the Chinese company released smartphones in the Honor line in the Benelux some time later. That happened with the Honor 7, 6 Plus and 6.
