Huawei announces Honor 7

Huawei has announced a new smartphone: the Honor 7. The device is offered in three different variants: with 16GB storage and a slot for a single sim or 16GB and a dualsim with lte connection or a 64GB variant with lte and dualsim slot .

The phones are otherwise identical: all have a metal housing, a 5.2 “screen, a Huawei Kirin 935 octacore processor and 3GB of RAM. They are supported by a 3100mAh battery. The device also has a 20-megapixel camera with Sony-IMX230 sensor on the back and an 8-megapixel front camera, it also has a fingerprint scanner and runs on Android 5.0.

The Honor 7 also has a dedicated button, which the company has dubbed a Smart Key. The Smart Key allows the phone to be put into a voice activation mode. The button also serves to open Huawei’s own ‘assistant’ Smartcare. All that is not provided by the standard Android interface, but Huawei’s own Emotion UI, EMUI 3.1. The phone will go on sale in China from July 7. The cheapest version costs 1999 yuan and the most expensive 2499, at the moment 289 and 362 euros respectively.
