Huawei announces Honor 6X with dual camera
Huawei has announced the Honor 6X in China. The 5.5″ smartphone comes in versions with 3GB or 4GB ram and 32GB or 64GB storage space. It has two cameras, with which a depth of field effect can be simulated.
The Huawei 6X features a Hisilicon Kirin 655-soc that consists of eight Cortex-A53 cores, four of which run at 2.1GHz and four at 1.7GHz. The GPU is a Mali T830-MP2. In addition to a SIM card slot, the device has a slot in which a micro SD card or a second SIM card fits. It also has an aluminum housing, a 5.5″ 1080p screen and a fingerprint scanner. The phone runs Android 6.0 with version 4.1 of the Huawei EMUI skin over it.
The device has two cameras on the back. The primary camera has a 12-megapixel resolution and the secondary has a 2-megapixel sensor. The secondary camera, according to FoneArena, serves as an aid to create a depth of field effect, blurring the background of the photo.
Three versions of the phone will be available. The first version has 3GB ram and 32GB storage capacity, the second 4GB and 32GB and the most expensive variant has 4GB and 64GB. Huawei makes the Honor 6X in gold, silver, gray, rose gold and blue.
The phone should follow the Honor 5X, which has been available in the Benelux since February. The 6X is available in China starting at 999 yuan for the base model, the same price as the Honor 5X when it came out there at the end of October last year. Honor smartphones regularly appear in the Benelux a few months after the release in China. Whether that will also apply to the Honor 6X and at what price that will be is not yet known. Predecessor Honor 5X came out here for 225 euros.
