Huawei announces Honor 30 phones

Huawei subsidiary Honor has announced three phones in its Honor 30 series. The phones all have OLED screens, support for fast charging and a periscopic camera with telephoto lens for 5x zoom.

Honor has only announced the phones for the Chinese market for the time being, reports XDA-Developers. It is obvious that the phones will also be released in other countries later, but that is unknown for the time being. The Honor 20 and 20 Pro were also released in the Benelux last summer.

The phones differ only little in screen size and housing; the Honor 30 has a slightly longer screen with a slightly smaller diagonal. The socs also have little difference; the Honor 30 has a Kirin 985, the 30 Pro and 30 Pro+ have a Kirin 990. All three phones have 5g, but only the Pro models also have Wi-Fi 6 via 802.11ax.

The devices will of course appear without Google services. That is common in China, but even with a release in the Benelux they will not be able to be on the phones. There is still a trade ban for American companies, which means that Google, among others, cannot do business with Huawei. The Honor 30 in its cheapest version is converted around 390 euros, the Honor 30 Pro+ starts at around 650 euros. The naming is in line with Huawei’s P40 series; it also has a regular variant, a Pro model and a Pro+ phone.
