Huawei announces event for European release of high-end phones
Huawei has announced an event for the European release of high-end phones. In any case, it concerns the P60 phones and presumably also the recently announced foldable phone Mate X3.
Huawei has scheduled the event for May 9 at 2:30 am in the German city of Munich, reports GSMArena based on the invitation sent. The invitation mentions the P60 phones, but also mentions a flagship product launch. This is probably the Mate X3, a foldable phone.
The Chinese brand announced the P60 phones in China last week. They come out at the beginning of April. The Mate X3 is a phone that can be unfolded into a small tablet and is notable for its small thickness and weight. It is 11.1mm thick and weighs around 240g. This makes it a few millimeters thicker than other phones and slightly heavier. Other foldable phones are usually thicker and slightly heavier.
Due to the trade ban of the United States, Huawei is not allowed to supply smartphones with 5G or Google services. Because almost all modern Android smartphones have 5G and Google services, Huawei phones have fallen sharply in popularity in recent years.
