HTC will release Vive Focus Plus in two weeks for 829 euros
HTC will release its standalone VR headset Vive Focus Plus in 2.5 weeks for 829 euros. The manufacturer has announced this at its own event. The Taiwanese producer had already announced the Vive Focus Plus last month.
The Vive Focus Plus will be available on the website on April 15 in 25 countries with a business license. This includes the Benelux, according to an announcement from the Benelux branch of the manufacturer. HTC further reiterated at the Vive Ecosystem Conference in Shenzhen that it will only sell the standalone headset to businesses and not release it as a consumer product.
The Vive Focus Plus has two ultrasonic controllers that offer ‘six-way freedom’. In addition to the three directions of front-back, left-right and down-up, these are rotations in those three directions. The Focus Plus also has inside-out tracking, which allows the headset to function without cables. The OLED screen has 2880×1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 75Hz. The soc is the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 as in the previous Vive Focus. HTC presented the headset last month.
Update, 11:00: HTC has announced euro prices and the article has been adjusted accordingly.
