HTC starts selling Vive Wireless Adapter for 345 euros

HTC will make the Vive Wireless Adapter available from September 24, and the manufacturer will start presales on September 5. The adapter to use the Vive virtual reality headset wirelessly costs 345 euros.

Owners of a Vive Pro will need to purchase a slightly different package. In addition to the adapter, PCI-e card and Link Box, this contains another connection cable, foam padding and a mounting accessory. This package costs 420 euros.

The adapter must be attached to the headset and communicates via the 802.11ad protocol, or WiGig, through the 60GHz spectrum with the antenna. According to the manufacturer, the adapter has a range of six meters and a field of view of 150 degrees from the antenna.
