HTC scraps ‘mini’ line of compact smartphones

HTC has no plans to release a smaller version of the One M9. The Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer has announced this at the presentation of the One M9 +, a larger variant of the M9.

Jack Tong, CEO of HTC, states that more and more devices are being released on the smartphone market with screen sizes of approximately 5″ and that future devices from the company will also come out in that segment, Focus Taiwan reports. HTC has therefore decided not to make mini phones. variant of the One M9, Tong said.

HTC previously released the One mini with a 4.3″ screen, and then released the One mini 2, which had a 4.5″ screen. The announced M9 + is just a larger variant of the One M9, with a 5.2 “display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, an octacore Mediatek-soc and 3GB of RAM.
