HTC has announced that it will tackle the graphical problems of one of the devices plagued by defective drivers by means of a ROM update. The update was supposed to be released this month.

The company would have announced this during a press conference, where it also confirmed the delivery of Tomtom Navigator 7 in the ROM of the new HTC Touch Diamond. According to msmobiles, HTC would release the update for the Tytn 2 in May, and perhaps as early as next week. For other HTC devices, which also suffer from disappointing performance, no rom update is expected for the time being.

The ROM update is not suitable for versions of the Tytn 2 that have been modified by telecom companies. However, HTC hinted at working on a ROM update that should solve the problems with other phones with Qualcomm’s MSM7200 and MSM7500 chipsets. Smartphones with those chipsets would not be able to have the full feature set due to the lack of the correct drivers. On the site where angry owners of the devices are considering a legal action against HTC, there is no news about the alleged rom update yet.
