According to the Taiwanese manufacturer, Vive Studios is intended to be a publisher for games produced in-house, but there are also plans to act as a publisher for VR games created by third-party developers. In addition to publishing content, Vive Studios will also be involved in marketing and development support.
With the announcement, HTC has also launched the first game for the VR glasses. It concerns Arcade Sage, developed within HTC by game developers united under the name 2 Bears Studios. The game, which has fairly simple graphics, costs 28 euros and is available on Steam for the Oculus Rift and HTC’s own Vive headset.
HTC hopes to stimulate the development of content for VR glasses with its own game studio. In addition to games, Vive Studios also wants to be involved in publishing other VR content, for example in the field of education, sports and social media.
