HTC launches Viveport Infinity subscription for Vive and Oculus Rift owners
HTC has announced a subscription with unlimited access to VR titles. The Viveport Infinity subscription is available from April 2 for 15 euros per month and is for owners of the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift.
Viveport Infinity contains a range of 600 VR programs and games, including well-known titles such as Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs as well as indie software. In addition to unlimited access to the library, HTC also offers members discounts and giveaways. For example, starting April 2, members will automatically receive a 10 percent discount coupon at the beginning of each month to spend in HTC’s VR title store Viveport.
Viveport Infinity will cost 15 euros per month, but members can also choose to take an annual subscription. Then they pay 114 euros for a whole year. Until now, Viveport has several subscriptions, of one, three, nine or twelve months, with the possibility to install a limited number of VR titles. For example, an annual subscription of 90 euros offers access to sixty titles.
At the same time, HTC announces that as of April 1, it will keep 20 percent of its store revenues and distribute 80 percent to developers. Until now, that was 30 and 70 percent respectively.
