HTC introduces the Desire 12 and Desire 12+
HTC has announced two smartphones with 18:9 screen in its Desire series of midrange models. The Desire 12 is a 5.5″ smartphone with MediaTek soc and the Desire 12 + has a 6″ screen and a Snapdragon chip.
Both smartphones have a resolution of 1440×720 pixels. Both devices also have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage memory, which can be expanded with a micro-SD card. The Desire 12+ is not only bigger, but also has a more powerful soc in the form of the Snapdragon 450. In addition, the battery is larger than that of the Desire 12: 2965mAh versus 2730mAh.
Furthermore, the Desire 12+ has a dual camera on the back. In addition to the thirteen-megapixel camera, there is a two-megapixel variant for a depth-of-field effect and this device also has a fingerprint scanner. The Desire 12 has to make do with a single thirteen-megapixel camera and lacks a fingerprint sensor. Both smartphones do have a 3.5 mm audio jack and the micro USB connection is of the 2.0 type.
HTC provides the devices with Android 8.0 with HTC Sense. The Desire 12 has a suggested retail price of 199 euros; the suggested retail price of the 12+ is 249 euros. Both models will be available in black and silver from the end of April.
