HTC introduces Desire Eye with two 13-megapixel cameras

HTC has announced the Desire Eye, a smartphone whose main feature is that it not only has a 13-megapixel camera on the back, but also such a camera on the front. There is also a flash on both sides.

HTC announced the Desire Eye at its Double Exposure event in New York. The Taiwanese manufacturer focuses with the device on lovers of ‘selfies’ and for this purpose there is a BSI sensor with 13 megapixels with f/2.2 22 mm wide-angle lens on the front. The front camera is combined with dual-LED flash and offers the possibility to record video in 1080p. The rear camera offers the same resolution, although this is a variant with an equivalent focal length of 28mm and an aperture of f/2.2. HTC will bring the blue phone on the market from mid-November for a suggested retail price of 499 euros.

The smartphone has a 5.2″ screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and the processor is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quadcore, which is clocked at 2.3GHz. The device has 2GB memory and 16GB storage memory, which can be expanded via microprocessor. -sd cards.There is also support for wifi-n, bluetooth 4.0, nfc and lte.

The housing, which is made of polycarbonate, is water resistant. The USB port is not covered with a cover, but is simply open. There is also a camera button on the housing. HTC also releases various covers, including the ‘Stand Cover’ with which the device can be placed for video calling, for example.

The release of the Desire Eye also marks the introduction of the ‘Eye Experience’, a bundle of applications for controlling, editing and adding effects to photos, with names such as Crop me In, Face Fusion and Auto Selfie. Some of the features relate to video calling and allow users to, for example, share or move the content of their screen during a video call, with the software automatically cropping and zooming to keep the user in view.
