HTC has appointed Paul Golden as a marketing consultant. Golden worked for Samsung for years and put the Galaxy brand name on the market, among other things. HTC probably wants to set up a new marketing campaign to boost sales.

Golden’s appointment was announced by Bloomberg on the basis of anonymous sources, but has since been confirmed by HTC itself. He will conduct his work in coordination with Cher Wang, who serves as co-founder and chairman of the board of directors at HTC. For now, Golden has been given a contract of only three months, with it being unclear what his exact role within the company will be.

Golden was previously employed by Samsung, where he was responsible for marketing the Galaxy brand name, among other things, with which it has achieved great success in the smartphone market. Golden was also involved in setting up a marketing campaign for Samsung, in which it opposed competitor Apple.

HTC has been struggling with disappointing sales for several years, despite the release of several high-end Android smartphones such as the One. The Taiwanese smartphone maker probably wants to use a new marketing plan to ensure that it can better compete with Samsung.
