HTC expects growth thanks to new products
HTC expects its fourth quarter sales to grow again for the first time in three years, thanks to new smartphones and other products such as smartwatches. The company has been struggling with declining sales for years.
In the fourth quarter, HTC will for the first time in three years have more turnover than a year earlier, the company expects, according to Reuters news agency. Financial figures are always compared with the same period a year earlier, in order to exclude seasonal influences.
According to HTC, the increase in sales is the result of a new flagship, as well as ‘new products’ such as a smartwatch, which it is working on together with Google. According to previous rumors, that smartwatch will be introduced in September.
In the first and second quarters of this year, the Taiwanese phone manufacturer, which once had a market share of ten percent, managed to get out of the red. It is estimated that HTC now only has a market share of 1.4 percent.
