HP’s Mini-Note 1000 netbook with 10″ screen shows up

On its website, computer manufacturer HP has announced the arrival of the Mini-Note 1000. This netbook is aimed at consumers and will probably not get a Via CPU, but an Atom. However, the specifications are not yet known.

The Mini-Note 1000 should be a more affordable version of the designer netbook that HP calls the Vivienne Tam Edition of the Digital Clutch. The small laptop, like the designer version, would have a 10″ screen, but with a more subdued black appearance. Compared to HP’s netbook for the business market, the Mini-Note 2133, the 1000 with its weight of about one kilogram is slightly lighter, while its thickness is about 2.5 centimeters. It is still unknown which other specifications the Mini-Note 1000 will receive. It is expected that HP will no longer use a Via CPU, but will put an Atom in the netbook.

HP would launch a similar model to the Vivienne Tam Edition with the 1000 netbook, but for the more price-conscious consumer. The specifications of this netbook, expected to be available around December, are largely unknown, but HP hinted that the small designer notebook would be equipped with an Atom CPU. This is remarkable, given that the company has strong ties to Via and uses a C7-M processor from Via in the Mini-Note 2133.

The price of the designer netbook is still unknown, but the 2133 is significantly more expensive than ultraportables from other manufacturers at $499. The price of the Mini 1000 starts, so turns out from the pre-announcement, at $399.
