HP releases Envy laptops with wood finish

HP will also optionally release its Envy series of laptops with a wood finish in the future. The Envy Wood laptops are basically the same machines as previous models, but simply get a different look.

HP announced the wooden models on the Computex. The wooden finish in the laptops is on the bottom where a user places the wrists. HP applies that to the existing Envy 13 and Envy 17, and to the Enxy x360 13 and x360 15. On the inside, the laptops remain the same, although they do come with newer generations of CPUs.

The laptops come with three different types of ‘wood’: Nightfall Black with Natural Walnut, Ceramic White with White Birch, and Natural Silver with Pale Birch. The laptops are a follow-up to previous experiments the company has done with a leather finish on laptops.
