HP introduces two USB-C monitors and a 32-inch all-in-one with RTX 2080
HP announced a 32-inch PhD computer with a 4k screen during CES. The product has a maximum of one Nvidia RTX 2080. The company also comes with two monitors with USB-C connection and integrated webcam.
The Envy 32 All-in-One has an IPS monitor with a screen diagonal of 32″. The screen has a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and can display up to 98 percent of the dci-p3 color space. The display achieves a brightness of 600 cd/m² and has a DisplayHDR 600 certification. The PhD student comes in various configurations with up to an Intel Core i7-9700 CPU and an RTX 2080 GPU. The computer is part of the RTX Studio program with separate drivers for creative workloads and is therefore not intended for gamers.The aio is supplied with a maximum of 32GB of DDR4 memory and an M2 SSD of 1TB.

The PhD student has an integrated soundbar from Bang & Olufsen, has a single Thunderbolt 3 port and three USB 3.1 Gen 2 connections, one of which is of type c. The computer has a built-in 5-megapixel webcam with pop-up mechanism. The PhD student also has support for 802.11ac via a Wi-Fi 5 2×2 modem with mu-mimo.
The PhD student measures 71.9 x 55.6 x 17.5 cm and weighs 13.8 kilograms. The cheapest model with a Core 5-9400, GTX 1650 GPU and 16GB ram costs $1800, while a model with i7-9700 and RTX 2060 will cost about $2500. Converted and including VAT, this amounts to about 1950 and 2708 euros respectively. It is still unknown how expensive the RTX 2080 model will be.
HP also introduces two EliteDisplay monitors with USB-C connection. The company comes with 24″ and 27″ variants, which have a full-HD and QHD resolution respectively. The screens both have an IPS panel. The 27″ model gets a 75Hz refresh rate, while the 24″ supports a maximum of 60Hz. There is no mention of color reproduction and maximum brightness.
The displays both have a DisplayPort 1.2 connector for video input and a DP1.2 connector for video output. The screens also have an HDMI 1.4 connection. In addition, both screens have two USB-C connectors with DisplayPort alt-mode and power delivery up to 100W and four USB 3.0 connections. Both screens also support wake-on-lan via an RJ-45 Ethernet connection.
The 24″ model will have a suggested retail price of USD 350. Converted and including VAT, that is approximately EUR 380. The 27″ variant costs USD 480, which amounts to EUR 520 including VAT. Both screens will be released in January.
