HP Introduces Specter x360 13 Laptop with OLED Display and Webcam Kill Switch
HP comes with a renewed Specter x360 laptop with 13 “screen. The new model has, among other things, smaller screen edges and an optional OLED screen with 4k resolution. The laptop will be released in October and costs 1299 euros for the simplest configuration.
HP equips the new Specter x360 13 laptop with 10th-generation Intel Core processors. This concerns the Core i5 1035G1 and i7 1065G7 CPUs. Both Ice Lake CPUs are made at 10nm and have four cores with hyperthreading. The Specter x360 13 uses Intel’s integrated Iris Plus GPUs. Nothing is mentioned about options with separate video cards.
The laptops come with 8 or 16GB lpddr4 ram, a 512GB or 1TB SSD from Intel and 32GB Optane memory. The new x360 has two screen options of 13.3 “, a full HD screen and an OLED screen with 4K resolution with a layer of Gorilla Glass over it. An option with Sure View G3 privacy screen is also expected in January 2020.
The laptop includes a new cooling system with a graphite plate for improved heat dissipation. Some keys on the keyboard contain holes that regulate the air supply to the underlying components. HP has added two extra heat pipes to the laptop. The 2018 x360 featured a single heatpipe, where the new model includes three. The new x360 also has larger holes for venting.
HP claims improved battery life compared to the old model. The laptop supports a fast charging technology that can charge the battery to fifty percent in half an hour. The x360 supports Wi-Fi 6 with an option for 4G with a 4×4 antenna. The laptop also contains a webcam kill switch. Allows power to be cut off to the webcam when not in use. The built-in microphone also has a physical mute button on the keyboard.
