HP introduces Omen 15 laptop with 144Hz screen with narrow edges
HP has given an update to his Omen 15 laptop. The laptop optionally gets a 144Hz screen and is more compact than the model that the company released in 2017. The most expensive version of the GTX 1070 with Max-Q also has a more powerful video card.
The thickness of the screen edge is reduced from 18.86mm to 12.79mm at the top and on the sides from 20.10mm to 7 , 03mm. Partly because of this, the entire laptop is 7.4 percent smaller and 4.6 percent less deep. The keyboard is illuminated in red in two zones and in four zones with rgb, depending on the model, and this lighting can be operated with the new Omen Command Center. With this software, temperatures, fan speeds and performance can also be monitored and managed. In addition, there is a feature to wirelessly stream games to an external screen.
The processors that HP uses for the laptops are Coffee Lake models from Intel, including quadcores and hexacores. There is a maximum of 32GBddr4-2666 of RAM and for storage HP uses combinations of HDDs, PCI-e-SSDs and Intel Optane memory. According to HP, the working memory and the storage are easy to replace: the plate at the bottom is attached with Philips screws and can be opened.
The laptop has three USB 3.0 ports and a USB 3.1 type c port which, in some cases, cases are combined with Thunderbolt 3. There are two video outputs: hdmi 2.0a and mini-displayport.
