HP equips ProBook 445R and 455R G6 with AMD Ryzen APUs

HP has announced the ProBook 445R G6 and ProBook 455R G6 business laptops. The company provides the laptops with aluminum housings and second-generation AMD Ryzen processors. There is also the ProDesk 405 G4 desktop.

The HP ProBook 445R G6 has a 14″ screen that can be tilted 180 degrees. The 455R G6 has a 15.6″ screen. HP supplies models with an IPS screen and 1080p resolution, but there are also variants with a VA panel with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. The screen brightness in both cases is a maximum of 220cd/m². The HP ProBooks will be launched with AMD Ryzen 3 3200U and Ryzen 5 3500U APUs, which feature the Vega 3 and Vega 8 respectively. The maximum amount of RAM is 16GB DDR4 and HP offers various storage options, such as a 1TB HDD or an M2 NVME SSD of up to 512GB.

The laptops support fast charging, with which the systems are charged to 50 percent of their battery capacity in half an hour. The aluminum housing of the 445R is 18 mm thick and the weight is 1.6 kilograms. The 455R G6 is slightly thicker at 19mm and this laptop is also a bit heavier; it weighs 2 kilograms. There are also three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one of which has a type-c connection, and there are HDMI 1.4b, an Ethernet interface and an SD card slot. The web camera is combined with an infrared sensor with which Windows Hello support for facial recognition is present and there is also a fingerprint sensor. The prices of the laptops are not yet known. They will be released in the US in June.

Also new is the ProDesk 405 G4. This is a compact business desktop system supplied by HP with second-generation AMD Ryzen Pro APUs. These systems can control up to three monitors. The starting price in the US is $499 and the desktop PC will appear there in April.
