HP Elite Folio gets Snapdragon 8cx 5G soc and case with synthetic leather
HP presents the Elite Folio, a 2-in-1 in the business laptop line. The Windows 10 device features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G soc, an Arm processor. The Folio is a kind of ‘writing folder’ that can be folded in different positions.
The HP Elite Folio can be used as a tablet or laptop, but the screen can also be brought forward in laptop mode. HP talks about a pull-forward design. According to HP, this is useful for viewing media. HP previously made the Specter Folio and the new Elite Folio model is similar in concept, but is in the higher-ranking Elite product line.
The HP Elite Folio contains Qualcomm’s 8cx Gen 2 5G-soc, an octa-core processor with Arm cores at 3.15GHz and an X55 modem for 5G. The device therefore runs on the Arm version of Windows 10. According to HP, the battery lasts 24.5 hours when watching videos stored on the device.
When closed, the HP Elite Folio is 16mm thick and weighs 1.3kg. The housing is finished with artificial leather. The 13.5″ screen has a 3:2 ratio and a resolution of 1920×1280 pixels. It is a touchscreen with support for a Wacom stylus, which is also included. There is 16GB Lpddr5 ram and a 512GB SSD HP says the Elite Folio will be released in February, but hasn’t announced a price yet.
