HP Announces New Elite Series Desktops and Laptops
HP has announced a series of new laptops, all-in-ones and desktops in its business Elite series. Among other things, the company releases the EliteBook 705 G3 laptops, which are equipped with AMD’s new Pro A12 apus.
HP releases EliteBook 705 G3 models with 12.5″, 14″ and 15.6″ screens and with resolutions from 1366×768 pixels to 3200×1800 pixels. The housings are part magnesium, part aluminum and at the thickest point the ruler shows 18.9mm, while the scale shows 1.26 kilos when the 12.5″ version is placed on it. The other models are of course heavier. HP provides the laptops with the Pro A12 apu, which AMD announced on Tuesday.
According to HP, the laptops are also equipped with Long-Life Rechargeable Batteries. These could be fully charged a thousand times and last two to three times longer than standard batteries, claims the manufacturer. HP does not say what technology is behind the batteries, but in the past HP has partnered with Boston-Power to use Sonata batteries with similar specs, so it is possible that these are new versions of these batteries. HP will release the HP EliteBook 705 G3 in October in the Benelux for a starting price of 599 euros.
The HP EliteOne 800 G2 AiO has the unique feature that it can be supplied with a standard wireless charger. For example, users can charge smartphones with the all-in-one by placing them on the stand, regardless of whether they support the Qi, PMA or A4WP standard. The all-in-one also has a fingerprint reader . The starting price of this system is 799 euros. HP also releases the EliteDesk 705 in a Micro Tower and Desktop Mini version. These compact systems are equipped with AMD Pro APUs of the sixth generation and will appear in November for a starting price of 399 euros. The HP EliteDesk 800 can include Intel Skylake processors, including the Intel Core i7-6700. The starting price of this desktop system is 630 euros.
