HP announces EliteBook Folio with 4k display

HP announced a series of new notebooks at CES 2016. The company will release the HP EliteBook Folio, the EliteBook 800 G3 and 1040 G3, the Pavilion x2, and a 15.6″ version of the HP Specter x360.

The HP EliteBook Folio is 12.4 mm thick and weighs less than a kilo. The screen has a diagonal of 12.5 “and a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. Remarkable about the model is that the screen can be laid completely flat, thanks to a 180-degree hinge. The notebook is equipped with Windows 10 Pro. About the processor HP know that it is a sixth-generation Intel Core M vPro. The amount of RAM that is available has not been disclosed, but it is known that the Folio has two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3. The notebook has a battery life of approximately 10 a.m. The EliteBook Folio should be available from March, a price has yet to be announced.

In addition, HP unveiled the EliteBook 800G and 1040G. These two notebooks run Windows 10 Pro and feature sixth-generation Intel Core vPro processors. Nothing is known about the amount of RAM, but it is known that it will be DDR4. An SSD is available as an option. The EliteBook 800 series is available in 12.5″, 14″ and 15.6″, with a choice of screen resolutions from HD to UHD. The EliteBook 1040 offers a choice between Full HD and Quad HD displays. Both notebooks will be released in January, with a price starting at 1199 euros for the 1040 G3 and 999 euros for the 800 G3.

HP has also announced a number of upgrades for existing laptops. For example, an HP Pavilion x2 has been unveiled with a 12.1 “screen. The new Pavilion x2 contains a sixth-generation Intel Core M3 processor and 4GB of RAM. In addition, the notebook has a 128GB SSD. Just like the Pavilion, the Specter x360 also gets a new member in the family. The battery life of the 15.6″ Specter x360 depends on the selected screen. On the 1080×1920 pixel models it is 13 hours and on the uhd models 9.5 hours according to HP. The 15.6″ HP Specter x360 comes out in January and prices start at $1,899.

The 13.3″ version of the Specter x360 will also receive an update. This model will mainly remain the same, but will have an option for an OLED screen. In addition, it can optionally be equipped with a processor Intel Iris Graphics and up to 1TB of SSD storage.

HP has also announced a number of accessories. So it comes with the Notebook Power Bank for the HP Pro and Elite series. According to HP, it can charge the notebook and a mobile device at the same time. Finally, HP is releasing a new UltraSlim Docking Station and Travel Docks. Price and release date of all three are still unknown.
