HP Announces Curved Monitor and 15.6″ Convertible with Thin Bezels
HP has upgraded the 15.6″ version of the Specter x360 with thin bezels and Kaby Lake processors. In addition, the company is releasing the HP Elitebook x360 and a curved monitor in the Omen series for gamers.
The Specter x360 15.6″ includes a flip-up 4K screen, but thanks to a larger battery, the battery life remains at 12 hours, ‘about’ the same as last year’s full-HD version. The recently announced 13.3″ version includes the 15.6″ Specter thin bezels, giving the laptop a form factor comparable to that of 13.3″ laptops with thicker bezels. HP is equipping the laptop with a GeForce 940MX GPU and an infrared camera that can use the Windows Hello biometric authentication service to log in to Windows 10. From January 15, the laptop will be available in the US for $1500, converted and including VAT. 1742 euros.
The EliteBook x360 is a business 13.3″ convertible with a thickness of 14.9 mm. The battery life of the model is according to HP 16 hours and 30 minutes. HP optionally supplies the laptop with a UHD resolution and a stylus. laptop has an ir camera for logging in with Windows Hello. The laptop will be released in the US at the end of January.
HP also releases the Omen X 35, a curved 35″ monitor with support for Nvidia G-Sync, which should prevent stuttering and stuttering of the image. The 21:9 monitor shows a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels and the device has a 100Hz refresh rate and 4ms response time. The static contrast ratio is believed to be 2500: 1. The model has HDMI, displayport 1.2 and three USB 3.0 ports. The monitor will be released in March for $1300 in the US and it is unknown whether this comes to the Benelux.
