HP announces 16-inch gaming laptop Victus for 949 euros
HP introduces a new entry-level gaming system brand. The first product is the Victus 16, a laptop with a 16-inch screen that HP is releasing in variants with an RTX 3060 from Nvidia or RX 5500M from AMD. New versions of the Omen 16 and 17 are also appearing.
HP calls Victus the younger brother of the Omen brand and focuses on new gamers, among other things. Different versions of the Victus 16 will appear. There will be models with a 16″ screen with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and a refresh rate of 165Hz. As far as processor is concerned, there is a choice of models with an Intel Core i7 11800H and AMD Ryzen 5800H and the maximum amount of memory is 32GB DDR4.
HP reports that the Victus 16 will be available in silver, blue and white from July for a starting price of 949 euros, but it is not known whether that is for the version with Nvidia RTX 3060, AMD RX 5500M or another video card.
The Omen 16 and 17 will also be released in July, for starting prices of 1,600 and 1,800 euros respectively. Both laptops get 2560×1440 pixel screens and 165Hz refresh rate, as well as support for Wi-Fi 6E and a single Thunderbolt 4 port.
HP equips the Omen 16 with up to an Intel Core i7-11800H7 or AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX, and with an Nvidia RTX 3070 or unnamed AMD RDNA 2 GPU. The Omen 17 only appears with Intel and Nvidia hardware. The CPU is maximum the Core i9-11900H, the video card maximum the RTX 3080. It is not yet clear which specifications buyers get for the prices mentioned.
