‘Horror game Silent Hills has been canceled by Konami’
Silent Hills, a horror game that should come out for a number of consoles, has been canceled by publisher Konami. Pan’s Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro has let us know, although there is no official confirmation from Konami yet.
After the teaser for Silent Hills was already removed from the PlayStation Store by Konami, Guillermo del Toro announced at a meeting that the publisher has canceled the game. The director say deeply disappointed that the horror game, in which he would collaborate with Metal Gear Solid developer Hideo Kojima, will not be made.
The cancellation of the game has been made by Norman Reedus, actor in The Walking Dead and the intended protagonist in Silent Hills, now also confirmedbut Konami hasn’t released anything yet.
It’s not clear why the game, which should become part of the Silent Hill franchise, has been dropped. However, there would be some unrest within Konami, including a conflict between Kojima and the Konami leadership.
