Horizon Zero Dawn Gets New Game+ Mode
Guerrilla Games has released a patch for Horizon Zero Dawn that not only brings some fixes to the game but also adds the new Ultra Hard and New Game+ modes. With the latter mode, the game can be replayed while maintaining character progress.
After restarting the New Game+ mode, the player will not be able to level up beyond the maximum of 50 but will still be able to accumulate XP, according to Guerrilla Games. In addition, updated versions of existing weapons and outfits have been added, which the developer says will not come cheap.
Another new mode is Ultra Hard, which presents the player with additional challenges. If you select this mode with a New Game+ game, you cannot step back to an easier game, in other cases you can. In addition, there are two new Trophies and there is, among other things, the possibility to paint Aloy’s face.
Kotaku found that simply completing Horizon Zero Dawn is not enough for the New Game+ mode to appear. Players must load the save game from after the credits for that option to appear.
The free patch is a snack before the release of The Frozen Wilds DLC. That package for Horizon Zero Dawn, which Aloy sets in a winter environment, will be released this year.
