Honor releases Magic Vs foldable smartphone in Europe for 1599 euros
Honor brings its Magic Vs smartphone, previously announced in China, to Europe. The foldable smartphone has a suggested retail price of 1,599 euros. This makes it the brand’s most expensive smartphone to date.
Honor announced the European release of the Magic Vs during its event at the MWC telecom fair. This is the same phone that was released in China in November, but with newer software. It had been known since its release in China that the phone would come to Europe.
With a price of 1599 euros, Honor places the Magic Vs a few hundred euros below the recommended retail price of the competing Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4. Because the price has dropped significantly since its release in August last year, it is now available for less money than its Chinese competitor. The Magic Vs comes in a version with 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage.
On the inside of the Honor Magic Vs is a foldable 7.9″ OLED screen with a resolution of 2272×1984 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The 6.45″ OLED screen on the outside has a resolution of 2560×1080 pixels with an aspect ratio of 21. :9. The screen also has a 120Hz refresh rate and supports HDR10+.
Furthermore, the Honor Magic Vs has a 5000mAh battery that can be charged at 66W. The SoC is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, a SoC from last year. The phone will run on Magic OS based on Android 13 when released in Europe.
