Honor presents Magic phone that can charge 70 percent in 20 minutes
Huawei subsidiary Honor has presented the Magic phone. According to the manufacturer, users can charge the battery of the device to 40 percent in ten minutes and to 70 percent in twenty minutes. The battery has a capacity of 2900mAh.
The phone has convex glass on the front and back and has a fingerprint scanner under the screen. That fingerprint scanner also replaces the Android control buttons on the screen. Previous Honor phones often had the scanner on the back of the smartphone.
Although Honor speaks of an ‘edge-to-edge concept’, the device has regular bezels. On each side is 3.2 mm, about the same as, for example, a ‘flat’ Galaxy S7 from Samsung. The display is a 5.1″ OLED screen with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. Huawei has put the Kirin 950-soc in the Magic, where the recently released Mate 9 has the new Kirin 960. The memory has a size of 4GB, the storage is 64GB.
Huawei wants to distinguish the Honor Magic with software. If the phone senses that it is dark thanks to the light sensor, it will automatically display the flashlight option on the lock screen. In addition, the phone automatically locks when the sensors pick up on the user putting the device in the pocket. The phone has a dual 12-megapixel rear camera.
The manufacturer has not disclosed a suggested retail price. The phone has all 4G frequencies on board for a release in Europe, but is only available for the Chinese market for the time being.
