Honor announces Magic 3 Series smartphones with Google services
Honor has announced the Magic 3, Magic 3 Pro and Magic 3 Pro+. All devices contain a 6.76-inch OLED screen, Snapdragon 888-socs and a battery of 4600mAh. With their worldwide release, the devices come with Google services.
The Magic 3 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888-soc that also has a 5G modem attached. The Pro and Pro+ devices come with a Qualcomm 888+ and a 5G modem. All devices have a 6.76-inch OLED screen with 1344×2772 pixels that support a refresh rate of 120Hz. The panels can display the P3 color space and support HDR10+. The glass of the screen runs over to the sides.
The Magic 3 has a 50-megapixel primary camera. The device also comes with an ultrawide 13-megapixel camera and a monochrome camera that contains 64 megapixels. The Magic 3 Pro device adds a telephoto camera that has 3.5x optical zoom and optical image stabilization. This sensor contains 64 megapixels. The ultra-wide-angle selfie camera has 13 megapixels on all Magic devices and supports 4k. There is a depth sensor on all devices with which unlocking via facial recognition is possible. The device also has a fingerprint scanner built into the screen.
Honor Magic 3
The primary camera sensor of the Magic 3 Pro+ is larger than the other models. It measures 1/1.28” compared to the sensors of the other devices that measure 1/1.56”. The resolution of the ultra-wide-angle camera of the Magic 3 Pro+ is 64 megapixels, instead of 13 megapixels in the same camera of the other models.
All devices come with a 4600mAh battery and support 66W fast charging. The Pro and Pro+ devices also have the option of wireless charging at 50W. These devices support reverse wireless charging, although it is not clear at what capacity this happens.
Honor Magic 3 Pro+
The devices run on Android 11 with Honor’s own Magic UI 5 skin on top. In Europe and the rest of the world, the phones will come with Google services. That is possible again after the company was sold by Huawei to a Chinese consortium at the end of last year. The devices first appear on the Chinese market, the rest of the world will follow later, although Honor has not given an exact date.
Honor charges 899 euros for the cheapest Honor Magic 3 device. For that you get 256GB of storage space and 8GB of RAM. The Pro device comes at 1099 euros and for that you also get 256GB of storage space and 8GB of RAM. The Honor Magic 3 Pro+ costs 1499 euros and comes with 512GB of storage space and 12GB of RAM.
