Honor announces 100 smartphone with new Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC in China
Honor announces the Honor 100 and 100 Pro in China, with the entry-level model equipped with the recently announced Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 soc. The smartphones cost the equivalent of at least 321 and 436 euros. It is not clear whether there will be a European release.
The Honor 100 has a 6.7″ OLED screen with a resolution of 2664×1200 pixels. The Pro variant has a slightly larger 6.78″ OLED screen with a resolution of 2700×1224 pixels. Both screens have a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and support the full DCI-P3 color spectrum.
The entry-level model also has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, which Qualcomm positions between the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. The processor has a clock speed of up to 2.63GHz with the performance core. As far as we know, the Honor 100 is the first smartphone to receive the relevant SoC. For the Honor 100 Pro, the Chinese brand opts for last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Both devices are equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.95 aperture. A 12-megapixel wide-angle lens of f/2.2 is also available in both cases. The Pro variant also has a telephoto camera with a 32-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Both devices have a 50-megapixel selfie camera, although the actual versions of the sensors are slightly different. Both cameras support video recording in 4k resolution.
The Honor 100 and Honor 100 Pro both have a 5000mAh battery and support charging at 100W. The devices are available in versions with 12GB memory and 256GB storage space and with 16GB RAM and 256 or 512GB storage space. The Pro version is also available with 1TB storage.
