Honor has shown the design of the 50 series, a smartphone that has two camera islands on the back that are connected to each other with a decorative element. The Huawei P50 has a similar design with two camera islands. Honor has been separate from Huawei since November.

Company late on Twitter see a teaser of the new smartphone, showing the backs of four smartphones. Apparently, the four smartphones only differ in color, with black, light blue, pink and silver. The smartphones all have two camera islands, with the top island containing a sensor, presumably for the main camera. In the lower camera island are three camera sensors and a flash.

This makes the design of the Honor 50 series very similar to that of the Huawei P50. This smartphone also has two camera islands with a decorative element that connects the two camera islands. The layout of the sensors is different with the P50 than the Honor 50. The fact that the two smartphones have similar designs is striking; Huawei sold its subsidiary Honor to a Chinese consortium in November. Presumably, the designs of both smartphones had already been completed by that time.

Furthermore, Honor reports that the smartphones in the 50 series will have support for 100W fast charging, have a curved screen and will be introduced on June 16. Honor said, according to XDA Developers, that the smartphone will get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G soc and will come with Google Play Services.
