Honda shows sketch of electric car that should be released later this year
The Japanese car manufacturer Honda has shown a first image of a prototype of a new all-electric vehicle. A mass-production version of the car will go on sale later this year, according to Honda.
Honda has announced that the world premiere of the vehicle will take place at the Geneva Motor Show, a major international motor show to be held from 7 to 17 March. The manufacturer has only published an early design sketch of the car; Honda has not yet shared more information about the design and features.
The manufacturer reports that this new electric car fits in with its own vision of electric cars. Under this vision, Honda is committed to ensuring that two-thirds of all European sales will contain ‘electrified technology’ by 2025.
Based on the released sketch, it appears to be a relatively compact electric car. According to Honda, functionality is central to the new vehicle and the vehicle has similarities with its own Urban EV Concept. This is an electric concept car that Honda presented in 2017. That concept car, which has not yet appeared on the market, seems to have few similarities in appearance with the sketch of the new car.
