Hogwarts Legacy has been postponed to February 2023, Switch version will follow later
Avalanche Software postpones Hogwarts Legacy for the second time. The final release of the RPG is now due on February 10, 2023 for the ‘PlayStation, Xbox and PC’. The release date for the Nintendo Switch version will be announced later.
The subsidiary of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment says in a tweet need more time to ‘provide the best gaming experience possible’. This marks the first time there has been an announcement surrounding the game emphatically suggesting a different release date for the Nintendo Switch version of the game. The release date of February 10, 2023 only applies to the versions for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S. It is unlikely that the Switch version will come out earlier than the variant for the other platforms.
Initially, Hogwarts Legacy was set to release sometime in 2021, but the game was delayed to 2022 early that year. No concrete release date was shared at the time. It was later promised that the game would be released before the end of 2022, which was later specified as “the 2022 holidays.” All the while, the version for Nintendo Switch seemed to be coming out at the same time.
Hogwarts Legacy is an RPG set in the Harry Potter universe. The game takes place several hundred years before the events of JK Rowling’s popular books. In Hogwarts Legacy, players create their own character who is taught the magic of Hogwarts.
