Hogwarts Legacy has been postponed to February 2023, Switch version to follow later
Avalanche Software postpones Hogwarts Legacy for the second time. The final release of the RPG must now take place on February 10, 2023 for the ‘PlayStation, Xbox and PC’. The release date for the Nintendo Switch version will be announced later.
The subsidiary of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment says in a tweet need more time to ‘provide the best possible gaming experience’. This is the first time an announcement has been made around the game that explicitly suggests a different release date for the Nintendo Switch version of the game. The release date of February 10, 2023 currently only applies to the versions for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S. It is unlikely that the Switch version will be released earlier than the variant for the other platforms.
Initially, Hogwarts Legacy was supposed to be released sometime in 2021, but the game was postponed to 2022 at the beginning of that year. No concrete release date was shared at the time. It was later promised that the game would be released before the end of 2022, which was later specified as “holiday 2022.” All the while, the version for the Nintendo Switch seemed to come out at the same time.
Hogwarts Legacy is an RPG set in the Harry Potter universe. The game takes place several hundred years before the events of JK Rowling’s popular books. In Hogwarts Legacy, players create their own character who is taught the magic arts at Hogwarts.
