HMD teaser for unannounced Nokia smartphone
Finnish smartphone maker HMD has posted a teaser for an as-yet-unknown Nokia smartphone. It is said to be the Nokia 7, a device that would be in between the existing Nokia 8 and 6 in terms of price.
The teaser shows a single camera with Zeiss lens and flash. The only Nokia smartphone from HMD to date with Zeiss lenses is the Nokia 8, which has a dual camera. So it must be a different device, says VTechGraphy. That it would be the Nokia 7 could be deduced from the accompanying text of the teaser, which shows Chinese characters that together can mean the number 7. The teaser can be found on HMD’s page on Tmall, a Chinese sales site.
On a forum of the Chinese site Baidu, user Nokibar posted a drawing of what the Nokia 7 would become. His earlier sketches of Nokia smartphones turned out to be correct. It would be an Android smartphone with 5.2 “LCD and full HD resolution. The soc would be a Snapdragon 630, a Qualcomm chipset with eight Cortex A53 processor cores and Adreno 508 GPU.
HMD will hold an event in China later this week, where the manufacturer will probably announce the Chinese variant of the Nokia 8. The Finnish company could also present the Nokia 7 there. HMD released the Nokia 8, 6, 5 and 3 so far.
