HMD introduces Nokia 2.3 smartphone with MediaTek soc for 109 euros

The Finnish HMD Global has presented the Nokia 2.3, a smartphone with Mediatek Helio A22-soc. The phone runs on Android One and HMD promises two years of upgrades and three years of updates for the device.

The Nokia 2.3 runs Android One and has a 13-megapixel camera with depth sensor next to it for taking photos in portrait mode, HMD writes. The phone also has the ‘Recommended Shot’ feature. As a result, the camera app takes various photos around the moment the user presses the shutter button, and then uses software to determine whether one of those shots might be better. That could be because a group portrait on a different frame makes everyone smile, according to HMD.

The phone has a screen of almost 96 square centimeters, a 6.2″ LCD of 14.2×6.7 cm with a resolution of 1520×720 pixels. It has a notch for the 5-megapixel front camera. The phone has a 4000mAh battery, that is now slightly above average Charging is done with 5W.

The size of the phone is also about average at 158x75x8.68mm. There is a micro USB port on the bottom and a 3.5mm jack can also be found on the housing. The phone runs on a MediaTek Helio A22 soc with four Arm Cortex A53 cores at up to 2GHz and a PowerVR GE6320 GPU from Imagination. HMD adds 2GB of memory and 32GB of storage. Things like nfc and a fingerprint scanner are missing, just like wifi-ac. The phone will be released within two weeks for 109 euros.
