Hisense does not provide TVs it releases this year with Google TV. This is a platform built on the Android TV operating system and is becoming available on more and more televisions with Android TV, but that will not be the case for the new TVs from Hisense.

Hisense tells 9to5Google that it has worked closely with the Android team over the last few years and is satisfied with Android TV on its televisions. The televisions that Hisense will release this year will, as in previous years, only run on Android TV. For 2021, this will at least apply to the QLED models.

That will probably change from 2022, because according to Google it is the intention that from that year all Android TV devices have the Google TV platform. For example, the Chromecast from 2020 currently has Google TV, which also applies to a number of new televisions from Sony.

Google TV is an Android TV 10-based platform that is mainly characterized by personal recommendations, bringing together as much content as possible in one interface and the possibility for users to search and consult content in multiple services. It is accompanied by an adapted home screen to facilitate this better.
