Hisense announces its UX television during CES in Las Vegas. This TV has a mini LED backlight and, according to the manufacturer, has a peak brightness of up to 2500cd/m². The manufacturer does not mention a suggested retail price or release date.

The Hisense UX is the first television in the company’s ULED X series. The television will have a screen diagonal of 85 inches and a backlight of more than 20,000 mini LEDs with ‘more than 5,000’ zones for full-array local dimming. The TV thus achieves peak brightnesses of up to 2500cd/m², the manufacturer claims. The previous U8H had an advertised peak brightness of 1500cd/m², although Digital Trends writes that in practice it also achieved brightnesses of up to 2000cd/m². Hisense talks about a ’16-bit light control’ algorithm that should offer better dimming for higher contrast.

The manufacturer does not say whether the TV will have HDMI 2.1 support. According to Digital Trends, the television can handle Dolby Vision HDR and supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Wi-Fi 6E. The ULED Hisense does not mention a release date or suggested retail price for the UX.
