Hisense releases smartphone with a 6.1″ screen from E Ink
The Chinese manufacturer Hisense has released the Hi Reader Pro in its home country, a smartphone with a 6.1″ screen made of electronic ink. This is notable because the Hi Reader, released last year, is not a smartphone, but an e-reader.
The Hi Reader Pro is a smartphone with calling capabilities and access to mobile internet via up to 4G and WiFi. The 6.1″ screen has an 18:9 ratio and is a Carta screen from E Ink without color reproduction. According to Liliputing The smartphone runs on an outdated Snapdragon 662 SoC from Qualcomm, equipped with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
The phone also has a 4000mAh battery, but it is unknown how quickly it can charge. The manufacturer also makes no claims about battery life. There is also a 3.5mm jack on the device. The device has no cameras. HiSense has previously released phones with an e-ink screen, such as last year’s A7CC and 2020’s A5C. The Hi Reader Pro will cost 1,699 yuan in China. That is approximately 230 euros.
