Hisense releases smartphone with 6.1″ screen from E Ink
The Chinese manufacturer Hisense has released the Hi Reader Pro in its home country, a smartphone with a 6.1″ screen made of electronic ink. This is striking, because the Hi Reader released last year is not a smartphone, but an e-reader.
The Hi Reader Pro is a smartphone with calling capabilities and access to mobile internet via up to 4G and WiFi. The 6.1″ screen has an 18:9 ratio and is an E Ink Carta screen with no color reproduction. According to Liliputing runs the smartphone on an outdated Snapdragon 662-soc from Qualcomm, equipped with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
The phone also has a 4000mAh battery, of which it is unknown how fast it can charge. The manufacturer also makes no claims about the battery life. There is also a 3.5mm jack on the device. The device has no cameras. HiSense has previously released phones with an e-ink screen, such as last year’s A7CC and 2020’s A5C. The Hi Reader Pro will cost 1,699 yuan in China. That is about 230 euros.
