Hello Games adds music making tool to No Man’s Sky
Hello Games has released update 2.24 for No Man’s Sky, adding the Bytebeat Device to the game. This is a music device that creates procedurally generated music that players can customize as they see fit.
According to Hello Games, being able to add sounds and music to a base was a common wish of No Man’s Sky players. To meet that need, developers at the company have developed a fairly complete daw, or digital audio workstation, for making music: the ByteBeat Device.
Once players place the ByteBeat on their base, it starts producing music via randomly chosen presets. Players can manually adjust these to create their own music. The virtual device consists of a sequencer, drum machine, arpeggiator, and waveform and envelope editors.
Users can synchronize different ByteBeat devices with each other for more complex compositions and there is even the possibility to control other constructions, such as lighting, with a ByteBeat Switch. Also, just like the other parts of bases, users can share the music with other players.
