Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice gets VR update for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift
Ninja Theory makes the PC version of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice suitable for VR headsets. An update will be released on July 31 that will make the game playable on the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift. Anyone who has the game on Steam will get the update for free.
The VR Edition of Hellblade consists of the full game, but according to the makers, experimental game modes have also been added. Furthermore, the developer promises many setting options, which should optimize the comfort of the VR experience. It will be available on Steam as an update to the regular game. If you already have the game on Valve’s platform, you don’t have to pay extra. The game currently costs thirty euros.
Hellblade is an action game that combines different genres, including hack ‘n slash, puzzle and horror. The game was released last year for the PlayStation 4 and PC. Since April this year, the game is also available for the Xbox One. Hellblade was created by Ninja Theory, the developer of DmC: Devil May Cry, among others. Microsoft recently acquired the studio, it announced during E3.
The main character in Hellblade suffers from psychosis. To properly convey its properties to gamers, developer Ninja Theory has collaborated with mental health specialists, patients and neuroscientists. The game is inspired by Norse mythology and Celtic culture.
