Head of multiplayer design Halo Infinite developer leaves studio
The creative director of Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode has left developer 343 Industries. It is the third headliner to leave the studio in just a few months.
The man, Tom French, let know that he “goes on to new adventures.” He has spent a total of more than 11.5 years at the Microsoft subsidiary studio, about half of which as creative director. Prior to that, he was involved in user generated content systems and mission design.
In addition to this creative director, studio head Bonnie Ross left in September of this year. She was in charge of the studio for 15 years. Director of Engineering David Berger also recently left 343 Industries. During the same period, Microsoft introduced a restructuring from the top layer of the studio; Ross’ position was divided between three other studio leaders.
Halo Infinite had a release that can be called successful, but there were criticisms afterwards. Split screen co-op was dropped and online co-op, mission replay, and the Forge level editor were postponed several times. The last three were recently introduced, less than a year after the initial release of the game.
