Hardkernel has announced the Odroid H2+. The single-board computer, like its predecessor, has an x86 soc from Intel. The new variant includes 2.5 gigabit Ethernet, and has a slightly newer Celeron J4115 quad-core CPU.

The Odroid H2+ is an upgraded version of the original H2. Among other things, the new version supports 2.5 gigabit Ethernet with an RTL8125B nic from Realtek. The H2+ has two such Ethernet ports. The original H2 had two gigabit Ethernet connections. This is the main difference from its predecessor.

This new variant also has a newer CPU, namely an Intel Celeron J4115 with four cores and four threads. This CPU has a clock speed of 1.8GHz with a turbo frequency of 2.3GHz on all cores. The chip has an integrated UHD Graphics 600 GPU. The whole is passively cooled.

The original H2 featured a Celeron J4105, which has a slightly lower clock speed of 1.5GHz. Hardkernel writes on its forum that Intel had delivery problems with the J4105, but that these have been solved with the arrival of the J4115. Intel does not mention the J4115 on its website yet.

Like the original H2, the single-board computer also supports ddr4-2400 memory, with a maximum of 32GB divided over two sodimm slots located on the back of the computer. The back also has an m2 slot for storage, with a PCI-e 2.0 x4 interface. The computer also has two SATA 3 connections and a connector for emmc flash memory.

The H2+ has an HDMI 2.0 port and a DisplayPort 1.2 connection, both of which can drive a 4k screen at up to 60Hz. The H2+ has the same dimensions as the H2, of 110x110x43mm. The weight has also changed slightly. The H2+ weighs 285 grams, including cooling block.

The H2+ is available immediately from Hardkernel. The single board computer costs $119. Converted and including VAT, this amounts to approximately 128.81 euros.
