Hardkernel has announced the Odroid-M1, a singleboard computer with Rockchips RK3568B2-soc. This will get four Cortex-A55 cores and a Mali G52 GPU. The manufacturer has also announced various modules for the M1, including a camera.

The four cores of the RK3568B2 soc have a maximum clock speed of 1.99GHz, while the Mali-G52 is clocked at 650MHz. According to Hardkernel, Rockchip guarantees that this soc can be delivered for 15 years, so Hardkernel expects to be able to supply the computing board until 2036.

The Odroid-M1 comes with 4 or 8GB Lpddr4 memory. For storage, there are an eMMC, a microSD, a SATA 3.0 and an M.2 slot. The latter has a PCIe 3.0 x2 interface for NVMe SSDs. Furthermore, the Odroid-M1 gets a neural processing unit for machine learning tasks that can deliver 0.8Tops in int8 calculations.

There’s an RJ45 connector for gigabit Ethernet, an HDMI 2.0 port that supports 4k and 60Hz, and mipi-csi and mipi-dsi slots for accessories. A screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels can be connected to the latter, writes Hardkernel. The SBC also has a 3.5mm port for audio, two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports.

By default, the Odroid-M1 comes with Petitboot installed and the singleboard computer supports Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and 22.04 LTS, as well as Android 11. The Odroid-M1 also works with Hardkernel’s Vu8M-8″ LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, which runs on the aforementioned mipi-dsi slot can be plugged in. There is also a camera module with a 5-megapixel sensor that can film at 720p and can be connected to the mipi-csi connector.

In addition, Hardkernel comes with a blue metal housing. The Odroid-M1 with 8GB memory is now for sale for 98 euros, converted and including VAT. The 4GB model costs EUR 76 converted with VAT and will be available from April 18.
